Flogging
Basically we are going to start out by going over the basics, such
as anatomy, safety, impact zones.
Then move on to how to actually use a flogger and what makes a good
flogger.
Then after if people want to try flogging, and maybe aren't sure
of what they are doing, they can do so supervised.
This is NOT going to be a free for all flogging seminar, there is
limited space and time.
This workshop was taught by Kirk and Sar on April 17th, 2004
Class description provided by Kirk.
Canes &
Caning
A simple tool, to get a reaction that is anything BUT simple! Our
instructor will lead us through different materials for canes, canes
you can make yourself, and how to tell a good cane from one that's
inferior. We'll go over basic safety, and areas that are more and
less safe to use a cane on, and then have the chance to experiment
yourself. For this workshop, bring your canes, crops, batons, etc
if you have them (some will be available to try out at the workshop
too) as well as a partner or the willingness to team up at the workshop.
This workshop was taught by Dennis on
June 24th.
Flogging
101
Back to the basics
A lot of time has passed since the last
flogging workshop, and we're going to revisit it. This workshop
is designed specifically for individuals who are new to the community,
for curious vanilla partners, and for those looking to touch up
on some of their existing skills. We'll go over safety, basic skills,
types of floggers, and then enjoy a demonstration, followed by some
hands-on time with one-on-one instruction. Tops and bottoms are
both welcome to this workshop, and we recommend it as a pre-requisite
to anyone who wishes to attend future more advanced classes on this
topic. Please bring your floggers (and other similar tools) as well
as a blanket or pillow for practice.
This workshop took place July 22nd and will be taught by Sardaukar.
Whips - Single
Tails
This is a more advanced class and we expect that all attendees will
have existing basic knowledge of safety regarding impact play, personal
responsibility, and negotiation. In this workshop, our presenter
will describe some of the additional considerations when dealing
with whips, will have an in-depth demonstration of different ways
to use a single tail whip, and then will assist those who want personal
one-on-one help in developing or improving their skills. Bring your
whips, or whip-type tools like dragons tongue, etc. as well as a
pillow or thick blanket to practice on. If you have played with
whips before and would like to play with a partner for the hands-on
portion of this workshop, we ask that you bring your own partner
(not attempt to team up at the workshop) and we require that everyone
who wants to do this, have their own safety & first aid kit
with them on-site.
This workshop took place July 22nd, 2006 and was taught
by Sir Kevin.
Corporal
punishment to Major pain
(A seminar on
how to get the best from your toys)
Every toy people
own has its own character and both tops and bottoms need to understand
exactly what each toy can do and more importantly what they cannot
do.
This seminar will explore the use of toys of various styles and
provide some guidance in the use of the care of and and operation
of your favorite toys.
Please feel free to bring along your favorite toys to share with
all.
This workshop took place May 26th, 2007 & was taught
by Sir Scott.
Florentine
Flogging
Florentine (aka two handed) flogging is a beautiful art that challenges
many people who are involved in bdsm play. This workshop won't turn
a beginner into an expert, but it will give you the skills and ideas
to continue practicing on your own, and give those who are already
using Florentine Flogging in their play a chance to learn new techniques,
and share their own with others.
Everyone will
have the chance for hands-on personal instruction, after our instructor
has discussed basic safety, and why exactly people enjoy Florentine
flogging (from the top and the bottom
). Because of the personal
instruction involved in this workshop, there will be limited tickets
available.
Please bring
two closely matched floggers with you (length and handle width is
more important than weight when choosing two that are not from a
matched set) to participate in the hands-on portion of this workshop.
We recommend that you come with your partner vs. teaming up with
someone at the workshop if you want to practice hands-on, or that
you bring a pillow or thick towel to practice your aim if you're
coming solo.
This workshop happened on May 26th, 2007 and was taught by Sir
Lex.
Flogging
101 - Back to the Basics
Now that we've
reviewed the basics in SM 101, and had an introduction to the lifestyle
with BDSM 101, P3Gatherings is happy to present Sardaukar with an
encore presentation of Flogging 101.
This workshop
is specifically designed for individuals who are new to the community/lifestyle,
for curious vanilla partners, and for those looking for a new perspective
on some of their existing skills. We'll go over safety, basic skills,
types of floggers, and then enjoy a demonstration followed by some
hands-on time with one-on-one instruction with our instructor and
other skilled devotees of this beautiful torment
.
Tops and bottoms
both are encouraged to attend this workshop - Tops will appreciate
learning the skill set involved in flogging, and bottoms will learn
how to tell a GREAT flogging partner from one who might want to
touch up on his/her safety basics
. (Plus
what a great
opportunity to get flogged!)
This class is
also recommended as a pre-requisite to anyone who wishes to attend
future more advanced classes on impact play and flogging or whipping.
Please bring
your floggers (rope, leather, etc) as well as a blanket or pillow
for practice. You may also want to team up at the workshop for further
hands-on practice if time allows.
This workshop took place on August 27th, 2008 and was taugh
by Sardaukar.
Topping without Toys: Rough Body Play
Want to add some extra "punch" to your scenes? Found yourself with a play partner and no toy bags in sight? Want to really get up close and physical with an aggressive bottom?
Grappling, punching, slapping, kicking, pinning, physical intimidation and other rough body play will all be included in this workshop where we'll explore taking the fantasy of take down scenes, aggressive play, and consensual non-consent to a risk-mitigated reality.
Our instructor will go over basic safety considerations for this kind of play and will discuss and demonstrate how to manage rough body play scenes as well as situations that might not go as intended. We will also discuss how tops can get a 'leg up' when your bottom is stronger or larger than you. There will be some opportunity for supervised interaction, so we recommend you bring a partner (or be willing to team up at the workshop) and wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.
This workshop took place on January 24, 2009 and was taught by VAD.
D/s Dynamics Roundtable
For our December workshop we’ll be doing something a bit different – this evening we’ll come together in a social atmosphere to discuss the dynamics inherent in a Dominant/submissive relationship/lifestyle.
For those of you who wanted to discuss some of the topics Bob Rubel brought up at his September weekend-long event workshops, here’s the chance. For those of you who missed it but are interested in either exploring a D/s relationship or enhancing your D/s lifestyle, come join us and others for a low-key, focused roundtable discussion.
This workshop took place December 3, 2008, 7pm and was lead by Dawn and LandofShadows/Derek
How to Meet
& Keep a Dominant
How to Meet
& Keep a Dominant Most of us spend endless weeks, months,
even years searching for our ideal match the dominant who
is just as patient as we need, and just as devious as we desire.
But are you ready for the top of your dreams? How do you
meet the right people at the right time in your life and in your
journey? How do you know if the leather-clad goddess is right for
you or if it's just lust fueling your desire to worship at
her feet? And
what happens when you meet that amazing person
how do you keep that relationship alive, fresh, and healthy?
In this workshop,
aimed at bottoms, submissives, and potential slaves (among others),
will discuss the self-work you should do before you aim to find
a dominant or top. We'll go over how to meet the right people, and
the tools and techniques you might consider to make your search
more fruitful. We'll discuss meeting and evaluating potential partners
to discover compatibility as well as passion, and we'll look at
how to KEEP that amazing partner, and avoid feeling like you've
become another lost pet of the week. We'll go over how to recognize
and avoid unhealthy, destructive patterns, how to grow within your
submission at the hand of your dominant, how and when to seek assistance,
and thoughts to consider in being better submissive to bring more
fulfillment to your relationship and the pleasure of your dominant.
This workshop
will be particularly interesting and useful to those who identify
as submissive, bottom, slave, switch, pet, little girl, etc.. and
others may also find important elements related to their relationship
dynamics represented here as well. Likewise, dominants, tops, owners,
Masters, Mistresses, etc.. may also wish to participate to learn
more to assist their partners and their relationship goals as well
and to give constructive feedback along with our presenter.
This workshop was taught by Usha in July 2008.
Avoiding
Sexual Souvenirs
Most of us are
aware of HIV and transmission risks, however many of use are unaware
of other sexually transmitted infections (STI's), which are more
common than HIV and often easier to transmit. Many of us mistakenly
assume that condoms protect us from all STI's. In this workshop
we will review the common STI's and how to lower our risks of transmission.
We will also discuss safe play and care for our equipment.
This workshop took place March 24th, 2007 and was taught by Dr.
G.
Wax Play 101
Warm and molten, drippy and enveloping – wax play can vary from a warm sensual scene between adventurous adults to a form of bondage, to frustration, to fear. Delivered one droplet at a time from a lit candle, or poured on in a gush of shocking heat there are a variety of techniques each delivering a different sensation to the recipient.
In this workshop we’ll cover a range of techniques and will learn how to choose equipment and supplies. We’ll debunk some common misconceptions, learn how to play with wax safely, and how to minimize the mess. Areas that will be covered include preparation, wax types, colours, scents, artistry, types of candles, applications, removal, clean up, safety, first aid, skin recovery and attention to possible allergic reactions. You’ll come away from this workshop also with a better understanding of how the body responds to temperature play, texture, and tactile sensations. Take what you learn home and create your own warm, glowing scene, or encase your lover in a bondage shell….
This workshop is recommended as a pre-requisite for those who would like to take an Advanced Wax class in the future.
This workshop will be part of our evening series, and thus will be primarily discussion, lecture, and demonstration. However those who would like a brief hands-on demonstration of how to use wax or would like to feel the sensation of wax will have the opportunity IF time allows. For those who wish to feel the sensation of wax we recommend:
- wear clothing that can get messy or bring a cover-up (apron, towel, etc)
- bring a small bottle of baby oil or similar product that you know you are not allergic to (optional, but a very good idea, especially if you’re hairy or have a low pain tolerance)
- prepare to tie your hair up if you have long hair
For those who would like to more actively play with wax (IF time allows) we ask you bring all of the above plus:
- A tarp / drop cloth / plastic sheet is required. No activity will be permitted without being sufficiently able to protect our space from dripped wax.
- A blanket or pillow (or both) for comfort of the bottom is recommended.
- A dull knife (like a butter knife)
- Plain emergency unscented white taper candles
- A plastic bucket (like an ice cream bucket) or similar sized bowl
- A medium sized towel
We make no guarantees that there will be time enough for everyone to participate. Demo bottoms are welcome – please contact us well in advance to make arrangements. Demo bottoms MUST pre-purchase their tickets so we don’t reserve time/space for those who may or may not show up at the door.
This workshop took place October 22nd, 2008 and was taught by Dawn and LandofShadows/Derek
Fantasy on Film - Fetish Photography
Do you fantasize about capturing yourself on film? Imagine your lover behind the camera while you pose for your own personal pictures? Do you have ideas for fantastic bondage and just long for the right bondage-bunny and photographer to make the ideas in your head come to life? Maybe you have designed some gorgeous fetish wear, and now just long to update and improve your portfolio for future projects? Do you adore body painting and dream of creative expressions for your human canvas?
This workshop will start with some basics about fetish photography – how to get the most out of your camera, what supplies you will have around the house (or bedroom!) to enhance your photographs, how to pose, styling considerations, composition, lighting, and other adjustments your camera might have. There will also be some discussion about the use of fetish photography, finding people to work with, and sources of inspiration.
Given time and level of audience experience we’ll also talk about where to get film processed, camera basics, and a discussion about digital vs. traditional film photography. We’ll discuss the kind of BDSM play scenes that photography works well with, and where not to bring your camera. We’ll also discuss concerns about photography + kink.
More than just a workshop – with enough participants, this will also include a photography session. Photographers, Models, Riggers, and Stylists will collaborate to create fantastic images.
This workshop will take place March 28, 2009 and will be taught by Barry. If you would like to attend this workshop, please contact us at p3gatherings @ gmail. com. Tickets will be 20$ per person, for both the workshop and the photography session and are available through our regular routes.
Workshop copy is subject to change. Please check back for the most up to date information closer to our workshop day. For some of the "niyty gritty" details, please see this document. Details are also subject to change.
n.b. - March 17, 2009 - this class is now SOLD OUT. If you would like to be added to our wait list please email us and we will contact you if a space opens up.
